Pokok Yang Tumbang

Assalamualaikum Buat Semua Pembaca

Beberapa tahun yang lalu, para pengkaji tumbuhan menemui bangkai sebatang pokok besar di lereng Long's Peak, Colorado. Selepas kajian dibuat, fakta menunjukkan perkara-perkara berikut:

1.   Pokok itu berusia lebih 400 tahun
2.   Ia mula tumbuh semasa Christoper Columbus mendarat di San Salvador
3.   Ia sudah pun setengah umur semasa penjajah British menduduki Plymouth pada 1620
4.   Sepanjang hayatnya ia pernah disambar petir sebanyak 14 kali
5.   Ia juga pernah diserang ribut beribu-ribu kali
Namun pokok itu tetap kukuh dan utuh.  Bencana-bencana hebat itu tidak dapat mengalahkannya. Tahukah apakah yang menyebabkan ia tumbang?

Jawapannya, kerana ia diserang oleh sekumpulan kumbang kayu. Kumbang itu terlalu kecil apabila dibandingkan dengan pokok itu, tetapi disebabkan olehnyalah, kekuatan yang hebat pun boleh jatuh tersungkur. Oleh itu, kita hendaklah sentiasa peka dan mengawasi setiap perkara-perkara yang remeh atau kecil.

Wahai Sahabat Guruku, Jadilah Pendulang Emas

Dalam urusan harian, kita perlu bertindak seperti pendulang emas. Ada perkara remeh yang kita tidak perlu layan iaitu pasir-pasir lumpur yang kita mesti singkirkan daripada dulang. Ada juga perkara-perkara kecil yang kita ambil berat iaitu ketul-ketul kecil emas yang tenggelam di dasar.

Dalam kerja seharianpun begitu juga. Ada perkara remeh yang kita tidak perlu ambil tahu, tetapi dalam masa yang sama ada juga perkara remeh yang mesti dikendalikan. Sekiranya tidak, ia merosakkan keseluruhan hasil usaha kita selama ini.

Secara ringkasnya, jangan terlalu leka dan sambil lewa dengan beberapa perkara kecil yang boleh memusnahkan kita.  Tetapi dalam masa yang sama kita juga tidak perlu membazirkan masa kita mengendalikan perkara-perkara tidak penting yang dapat dilakukan oleh orang lain, bahkan ada perkara yang kita tidak perlu ambil tahupun. Tumpukan kepada emas dan abaikan lumpur-lumpur yang mengotorkan.
